If you see your friend wearing a nice jacket, or your co-worker wearing a cool watch, it’s nice to give a compliment.
It’s always nice to receive compliments and you can make their days.
And it’s nice to see them being happy.
And you can be happy as well.
お友達が素敵なジャケットを身につけていたり、同僚がカッコいい腕時計をつけていたら、ぜひ褒めてみま しょう。
褒められるともちろん嬉しいですし、嬉しそうな様子をみて自分も温かい気持ちになりますよね。
英語で褒める表現はたくさんありますが、今回ご紹介している「 I like your jacket.」 または 「I love your watch. 」 がとても簡単です。
And if you get a compliment, please don’t be modest and just say “Thank you.”
そして褒められた際は、謙遜などせずに素直に「ありがとう」と言いましょう。
You can also say, “Thank you. I’m glad you like it.”
「ありがとう。気に入って頂いてうれしいわ。」と言うこともできますね。
